Keira-Marie Allen
(she/her)

Psychologist and Practice Owner

On maternity leave: May - December 2022

About

Keira is a Registered Psychologist who enjoys working with adult clients, both individually and in couples. Keira started her professional life as a Paramedic, but found herself drawn strongly to the mental health presentations and therefore, decided to continue studying to become a Psychologist.

Keira-Marie Allen provides client-centered, evidence-based, and individualised psychological treatment to each client for a wide range of issues.

Keira has a particular interest in working with 'diverse people' - those who are neurodiverse (on the autism spectrum, ADD, ADHD), are part of the LGBTQIAPK+ population, are gifted, and/or those who are in/interested in alternate relationship structures. She also has experience, interest, and training in working with people who have experienced trauma.

Keira is passionate about guiding and supporting clients in therapy to uncover what may be driving unhelpful behaviours, learn strategies to approach situations differently and facilitate personal growth through treatment. In her work, she develops and implements tailored treatment plans to assist individuals who are experiencing a range of mental health issues. Keira strongly believes that clients should be encouraged to take an active role in their treatment, recovery, and ongoing management of their health.

Keira’s approach to working with clients has been described as collaborative, flexible, warm and genuine.

Keira is a Registered Provider with Medicare.

When Keira is not working, she is spending time with her family (including a husband, a daughter, 2 rescue cats and 2 mini lop rabbits), reading, cooking, gardening, dancing, or practicing yoga.
